Ivano Counselling Centre
The Ivano Counselling Centre at Mar Ivanios College provides professional psychological support to promote mental health and holistic wellbeing within the campus community.
Dr. Anita Sharon Joshua serves as the full-time Counselling Psychologist, available on all working days from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. She offers individual counselling for academic, personal, and emotional challenges, along with motivational and guidance sessions aimed at enhancing students’ emotional resilience, self-awareness, and interpersonal skills.
In addition to the full-time psychologist, the Centre is supported by a Jeevani Counsellor, Ms. Gayathri Nair V. B., who is available on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
The Centre regularly conducts orientation and awareness programmes on topics such as stress management, emotional wellbeing, and mental health literacy. Beyond student support, it contributes to personal development and mentoring initiatives for faculty and staff—fostering a compassionate and supportive campus culture.
In alignment with its focus on mental health awareness and education, the College also offers a Value Added Course (VAC) titled “Psychology in Everyday Life” for FYUG students, aimed at enhancing understanding of psychological principles and their relevance to daily life.
Confidentiality, trust, and empathy form the foundation of the Centre’s work, ensuring a safe and approachable space for personal growth and psychological support
